“Highly energetic, highly motivational and highly enjoyable! ‘Grab the M.I.C’ delivered on its promise to engage our children in a fantastic music experience. Access to musical instruments has never been so well managed, creative and we look forward to welcoming ‘Grab the MIC’ back for more sessions.”
Clare Matheson, Year 5 Class Teacher, Newman College. Dec 2009.
“I thought the session was excellent. The students had a lot of fun and the experience was very practical and hands-on. Although no prior musical knowledge is needed, I like the way students with some music background can benefit ie: your session caters for all ability groups. I would have you back for a session again in a flash!”
Drew Elliott, Year 3 Class Teacher, Newman College, Dec 2009.
“We had an awesome incursion!! The students had a ball and loved every minute of their music experience...it was truly inspirational!!! LOVE YOUR WORK”
Fiona Caldwell, Year 5 Teacher, Newman College, Dec 2009
“Thank you for a wonderful experience for my 10 year old son and 8 year old daughter. They both loved the opportunity to try the different musical instruments in such a relaxed and supportive environment. With no previous experience in playing a musical instrument, I was amazed at their confidence and enthusiasm. We look forward to coming back again soon!”

“GTM was so cool, it was so fun. If I could rate it out of 100 I would rate it 100. My favourite thing was the drums, that was so cool. I also liked Jam Session. It was fun how we could do whatever we liked while Jam was on. I just think it should be a bit longer other than that, it was awesome.”
Tiff (11), participant, Gooseberry Hill 15/01/10
“As a parent I found the workshop great value and easily located. It was organised well and information was fantastic.”

“My children, Karl (9 yrs) and Chloe (5 yrs) attended the Grab the Mic holiday course in Gooseberry Hill in early January and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! They especially liked being able to try all the instruments out, the interaction with the supportive and encouraging teachers, learning how to use the computer technology and the ipods, singing to the music they hear all the time on the radio (“turn it up Mummy!”) and generally having a really fun time with all the other kids who were learning about music too. My daughter discovered that she loves to sing and has really come out of her shell “Watch me sing and dance Mummy!” and all my son can think about is how he can earn enough money to buy a drum set!”
E Van Den Dries, parent, Gooseberry Hill 19/01/10
"Grab the MIC was really fun because you got to have a go at everything & not have to worry about doing the instruments right. It's a good opportunity for kids who don't know where to start. I had a blast!"

“This program has been fantastic – To see the children engaging with music has been refreshing. Finn’s energy is infectious - you can’t help but enjoy the time you spend with her and the children.”
Craig Anderson, Principal, Maddington Primary, 10/05/2010
“Grab the M.I.C is the most ingenious activity for school children. Our children loved that they were able to choose what instrument to play and where their music would take them. With Finn being able to provide our children’s created music on CD, this was more than we could ask for. Our parents, children were really impressed with the level of passion from the team at Grab the M.I.C and we will have them back at the centre for years to come!”
